Laura Pirovano claimed her first career downhill victory at Val di Fassa's La VolatA course on March 6, edging Germany's Emma Aicher by just 0.01 seconds. Olympic gold medallist Breezy Johnson finished third. Ilka Štuhec opened the race with a competitive time of 1:21.81, placing seventh overall. Kira Weidle-Winkelmann, having her best season, initially challenged Štuhec before Pirovano surpassed her by 0.32 seconds. Johnson led through the top section but lost time on the lower portion. Austria's Conny Hütter, winner of an earlier Val d'Isère race, also struggled on the lower section, finishing between Weidle-Winkelmann and Štuhec.
