California Ski Resort Will Stay Open through Memorial Day After Massive February Snowfall
"After more than 7 feet of snow fell throughout the month of February so far, Mammoth Mountain has announced plans to stay open for skiing and riding at least until Memorial Day. Mammoth's "Second Season", as they call it, is legendary for its California sunshine, high-temp après, and spring hot laps."
"Canyon and Eagle Lodges close after April 19th, 2026, shifting all action and lift access to Main Lodge starting on April 20th. In late April or early May, operation hours will also shift, with lifts opening at 7:30am and closing at 2pm to take advantage of the early morning sunshine and snow conditions."
"In past years their ski season has run into June, July, and even as late as August. Spring deals make the skiing well worth it, in addition to the mountain-wide party."
Mammoth Mountain announced an extended ski season through at least Memorial Day after receiving more than 7 feet of snow in February. The mountain's spring season, known as "Second Season," features California sunshine, warm afternoon conditions, and spring skiing opportunities. Canyon and Eagle Lodges will close April 19th, 2026, consolidating operations to Main Lodge starting April 20th. In late April or early May, lift hours will shift to 7:30am to 2pm to maximize early morning snow conditions and sunshine. Historically, Mammoth's season has extended into June, July, and occasionally August. Spring deals and mountain-wide events make this period attractive for skiers and riders.
