"The Silverlode Express Lift, built in 1996, is known for having long lines, servicing many popular runs and being the closest lift to the Quicksilver Gondola. The new proposal aims to upgrade it from a six-chair to an express eight-chair lift, increasing uphill capacity from 3,000 to 3,600 skiers per hour."
"The Eagle lift, a fixed-grip triple, will be transformed into a high-speed six-pack express, increasing its uphill capacity from 1,200 to 2,400 skiers per hour. This upgrade is part of PCMR's strategy to improve navigation and overall experience at the largest resort in the nation."
Park City Mountain Resort is pursuing approval to upgrade the Silverlode and Eagle lifts on the Mountain Village side. Initially approved in 2022, the upgrade faced an appeal from a local group. With growing support from residents, the resort resubmitted proposals to the Park City Planning Commission, focusing on the Comfortable Carrying Capacity (CCC) concerns. The Silverlode lift will be upgraded to an express eight-chair, increasing capacity by 20%, while the Eagle lift will become a high-speed six-pack, doubling its capacity.
