Mt. Bachelor Closing Day Set for April 19
"The early closure marks a difficult end to a season that struggled from the outset. Mt. Bachelor had been forced to postpone its scheduled November 28 opening day due to insufficient early snowfall, before finally opening on December 23."
"We're having a really difficult time keeping snow at the base. We're so thankful for all of our pass holders this year - they have kept us going."
"The resort has seen 180″ of snow this season, and currently has a 29″ base, which is 1% of average. Mt. Bachelor is typically fully operational through April, with around half the terrain open until Memorial Day."
Mt. Bachelor will close on April 19, significantly earlier than planned, due to a thin snowpack and historically low snowfall. The resort had originally aimed to remain open through Memorial Day but will not meet that target. The season began with a delayed opening on December 23 and has only seen 180 inches of snow, with a current base of 29 inches. A multi-day celebration called RendezVan will coincide with the closure, featuring various activities and extended lift hours.
