Ski Patrol Union at Telluride, CO, Approves New Contract Allowing the Resort to Reopen on Saturday - SnowBrains
"We're happy to share that the Ski Patrol Union has accepted our last offer, allowing operations to resume,"
"You look at retailers who filled up their shops in hopes of holiday spending and a ski season of spending that don't have the margins to just hold on to their inventory without the money coming in,"
"And we've just really proven to ourselves how fragile we are,"
Telluride Ski Resort will begin reopening after the ski patrol union approved a contract, ending a strike that began December 27 and prompted the resort to close. Negotiations between the resort and the Telluride Professional Ski Patrol Association began in June 2025 and stalled in recent weeks, with the union seeking higher pay for its most experienced members. The resort said operations will resume immediately with Lift 4 opening Saturday and the Super Loop planned to follow, with additional terrain coming soon. The union did not specify wage movement in the agreement. Local businesses faced severe holiday revenue impacts during the closure.
