SnowBrains Forecast: 4 Feet of Snow For California This Weekend - SnowBrains
"A powerful weekend storm will blanket much of California's ski country with widespread new snow from late Friday night through Monday, with the deepest totals focused on the central Sierra and the highest elevations of the eastern Sierra. Snow levels start relatively high Friday night into Saturday, then trend steadily lower Saturday night through early Monday, improving coverage at mid-mountain and boosting snow quality as the cold air filters in."
"The first round arrives late Friday night into Saturday with snow levels initially running roughly 6,500-8,000 feet in the Tahoe and eastern Sierra zone, and generally 6,500-7,500 feet across the broader Sierra. That means the earliest snow will be on the wetter, denser side, with SLRs commonly in the 6-9:1 range at many Tahoe and central Sierra resorts. Even so, snowfall adds up quickly at the higher bases and along the crest,"
A powerful weekend storm will blanket much of California's ski country with widespread snow from late Friday night through Monday, with deepest totals in the central Sierra and highest elevations of the eastern Sierra. Snow levels begin relatively high Friday night into Saturday then fall steadily Saturday night through early Monday, improving mid-mountain coverage and snow quality as cold air arrives. The first round brings wetter, denser snow with SLRs commonly 6–9:1 and higher-elevation accumulations; the prime window peaks Saturday night into Sunday with SLRs increasing. Expect windier conditions at upper elevations Saturday into early Sunday, easing Monday into Tuesday. Far Southern California mountains should see limited snowfall until late in the event. The pattern trends toward fewer storms into mid-January.
