The Copper Alpine World Cup Has Officially Passed Snow Control
"While the Stifel Copper World Cup presented by United Airlines has been on the World Cup schedule for a while now, it was only just revealed that the event has passed snow control, meaning the world's best ski racers will be competing at Copper Mountain, Colorado, in just 9 days. The event begins on Thursday, November 27th (yes, Thanksgiving Day) with the Men's Audi FIS Ski World Cup Super-G at 10am."
"While Colorado hasn't seen a whole lot of snow so far this year, Copper Mountain operations were able to take advantage of cold weather and the latest HKD Snowmakers to produce top-to-bottom snow coverage ahead of the competition weekend. Copper is also open to the public thanks to the same snowmaking. Snow control is conducted 10 days before the official arrival day for speed events and 7 days before the official arrival day for technical events."
Top-level FIS World Cup ski races will take place at Copper Mountain, Colorado from November 27–30, featuring a men's Super-G, men's giant slalom, women's giant slalom, and women's slalom. Copper Mountain passed snow control, confirming sufficient snow for safe racing. Cold weather and HKD Snowmakers produced top-to-bottom coverage, allowing both the competition and public skiing access. Snow control occurs 10 days before arrival for speed events and 7 days for technical events to verify safety; races that fail snow control have been cancelled or postponed historically. The Stifel Copper Cup is free to attend, with VIP and grandstand tickets available.
