'A sad day for football' - Jamie Carragher with a warning after Alexander Isak's move to Liverpool
Briefly

Alexander Isak missed recent training and did not play over the summer because of a dispute with Newcastle, leaving him with restricted preparation and reduced match fitness. Isak expresses eagerness to return, saying he wants to play as soon as possible, is happy the move is complete, and looks forward to teammates and fans. Jamie Carragher described the transfers as a triumph of player power and contrasted Isak’s approach with Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi’s more dignified conduct. Carragher warned that similar actions by other players could harm football and criticized the conduct of those involved.
I've had a tricky summer where I haven't played any games and I've had restricted training. So I think that's one to judge and to analyse where I am at and how much I am ready to give. But I certainly want to play as soon as possible. I'm just happy it's done and that I can get back to work. I'm looking forward to seeing my team-mates and the fans, and getting back out there.
Other players in this position in a year's time will look at how Isak and Wissa have gone about it and how that gives them a greater opportunity to get out - and that would be a sad day for football. Because I don't think it's been great how both players have conducted themselves.
