Ange sacked by Forest minutes after Chelsea loss
"Nottingham Forest have sacked Ange Postecoglou39 days after appointing him as head coach on Sept. 9 and just minutes after the team's defeat by Chelsea on Saturday. Postecoglou was sacked after he failed to lead the team to a single victory from his eight matches in charge. Forest's 3-0 defeat by Chelsea at the City Ground on Saturday proved to be Postecoglou's final match in the dugout."
"Postecoglou's exit makes his reign the second shortest in Premier League history. Technically, Sam Allardyce's 30 days in charge of Leeds United in 2023 is the record holder -- he was brought in on May 3 in a last-ditch attempt to keep Leeds up, but after he failed to do so, his contract came to an end on June 2. Les Reed is next on the list (40 days). Reed was sacked 40 days after taking over at Charlton in 2006."
Ange Postecoglou was sacked by Nottingham Forest 39 days after his appointment on Sept. 9 following a 3-0 defeat by Chelsea. He failed to register a victory in eight matches in charge. The club cited a series of disappointing results and performances and relieved him of his duties with immediate effect. The dismissal makes his reign the second-shortest in Premier League history, behind Sam Allardyce's 30 days at Leeds in 2023 and comparable to Les Reed's 40-day spell at Charlton in 2006. Postecoglou had previously been sacked by Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the year. Forest sit 17th, one place above relegation.
