Barnet sign ex-Boro forward Assombalonga
"The timing for us is perfect and Britt wants to come back to the UK and come back to the London area where he's from,"
"He always comes in with a smile on his face and we know he's a great character and he'll be great with the young players."
"After speaking to the gaffer and [assistant manager] Connor [Smith], it's something that I wanted to do and we finally got it over the line."
"Dean [Brennan] just wants me to be me at the end of the day and get back to doing what I do best."
Barnet have signed 32-year-old forward Britt Assombalonga, who previously played for Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough and spent six months with Watford in 2023 before two seasons in Turkey. Assombalonga has won 10 caps for DR Congo. Head coach Dean Brennan said the signing will bring "vast experience and bundles of quality" and noted the player wanted to return to the London area. Brennan praised Assombalonga's character and potential to help young players. Assombalonga said conversations with the manager and assistant convinced him to join. The contract length was not disclosed and Barnet sit 10th after a recent loss to Notts County.
