Breaking: Bayern Munich officially purchases Sportpark Unterhaching
"FC Bayern has acquired Sportpark Unterhaching, which will be owned by Allianz Arena Stadion GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of FC Bayern München AG, from 1 January 2026. Following the necessary infrastructure adjustments, Sportpark Unterhaching will be home to all FC Bayern Women's matches and training sessions, and from the 2026/2027 season onwards, FC Bayern Women's home matches in the Champions League will be played there. SpVgg Unterhaching's first team will also continue to play their home games at the Sportpark stadium, as before."
"Earlier, BR24, as captured by @iMiaSanMia, reported that Bayern was finalizing the deal with the town of Unterhaching to buy the stadium. The 15,053 seat stadium is a huge leap from the 2,500 seats of the FC Bayern Campus, the current home ground of the Bayern Frauen. With more than six times the capacity, the stadium is likely to pull a good-sized crowd, especially with the Frauen's results being quite favorable in recent seasons."
FC Bayern will own Sportpark Unterhaching through Allianz Arena Stadion GmbH starting 1 January 2026. After necessary infrastructure adjustments, the venue will host all FC Bayern Women's matches and training sessions. From the 2026/2027 season, FC Bayern Women's Champions League home matches will be played at Sportpark Unterhaching. SpVgg Unterhaching's first team will continue to play home games at the stadium. The facility seats 15,053, significantly more than the FC Bayern Campus's 2,500 seats, which is expected to increase attendance. The stadium is roughly a 20-minute S-Bahn ride from central Munich plus a 15-minute walk to the ground.
