"Based on everything that we've seen, he'll be traveling to Portland and he'll be coming off the bench for us,"
"Just that he wants to be a part of the group, it's the most important thing, [showing] through your actions that you want to be part of the group."
Hirving "Chucky" Lozano will return to San Diego FC's squad for Game 2 in Portland but will come off the bench rather than start. Lozano missed the team’s last two matches, including the club’s first-ever playoff game, after an internal incident reportedly involving a verbal altercation following a halftime substitution against the Houston Dynamo. Lozano issued an apology on social media and showed commitment in training, prompting coach Mikey Varas to reintegrate him for the trip. Lozano is San Diego’s first designated player, earns $6 million guaranteed, and has nine goals and 10 assists in 27 appearances this season.
