Chukwuani welcomes 'huge expectations' at Rangers
""one of the top players for the future""
""small heart defect""
""He is a player who strengthens our group and offers specific qualities that we believe will enhance our midfield department,""
Tochi Chukwuani, a 22-year-old Dane, has joined Rangers from Sturm Graz on a three-and-a-half-year contract for an undisclosed fee. He began training with Nordsjaelland's first team at 14, made his senior debut at 16, and became the club's youngest league scorer before moving to Lyngby in 2022. A proposed transfer to Hellas Verona collapsed after a medical found a "small heart defect". He played 58 matches for Lyngby, then signed a four-year deal with Sturm Graz in 2024, making 27 appearances in a title-winning season and featuring in Champions League and Europa League fixtures. He is a 6ft 2in, tough-tackling, pacey midfielder who primarily operates centrally but has also featured on the left. His signing provides midfield cover following Connor Barron’s injury and is expected to add specific qualities to the squad.
