Clarke banned for 'highly violating' act on opponents
""highly violating and intentional foul play""
""was visibly upset" and "very emotional and struggled to speak""
""maintained his innocence" and only admitted the charges on the basis that both "were unintentional"."
"the commission said it did not accept Clarke's view that "neither of the acts were intentional" and said there was "no plausible explanation to be touching an opponent's private body parts during a game [especially when the match itself was not in motion]"."
Ollie Clarke, Swindon Town captain, was banned for seven matches and fined £2,750 after admitting two FA charges of acting in an improper manner or using indecent behaviour. The incidents occurred in the 57th and 94th minutes of Swindon's Carabao Cup defeat by Cardiff City on 12 August. An independent FA Regulatory Commission characterized the conduct as highly violating and intentional and noted aggravation because the two incidents were 37 minutes apart. A player who reported one incident was visibly upset and very emotional and struggled to speak. Swindon say Clarke maintained his innocence and claimed the acts were unintentional, a view the commission rejected. Clarke has three ban games remaining.
