Cup hero Okonkwo delighted with Wrexham redemption
"Mistakes are normal in football, it's all about how you react all the time. It won't be my first and won't be my last probably. It's all about looking on to the next one and I'm just happy I could make the difference again."
"I'm so happy for Arthur Okonkwo. It was only a few weeks ago people were on his back for his mistake at Swansea which led to Wrexham losing in injury time. But he's more than made up for that with his saves tonight."
"I did loads of research. I was watching back over their clips, knowing that the game could go to penalties. It was really important to have a look and I have to say thank you"
Arthur Okonkwo recovered from an earlier costly error to become Wrexham's decisive goalkeeper, saving two penalties in a 4-3 shootout win over Nottingham Forest after a 3-3 draw. Wrexham won four successive Championship matches and beat top-flight opposition for the first time since 1999, climbing from seven points and nine places adrift of the play-off positions. Manager Phil Parkinson revealed the team practised penalties ahead of the match and described Okonkwo as his team's "hero". Former midfielder Waynne Phillips praised Okonkwo's response to criticism. Okonkwo said he studied opponents' clips and prepared for possible penalties.
