Ibrahima Konate, 26, enters the final months of his Liverpool contract which expires in June. Interest from major European clubs, including Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, has intensified transfer speculation across England, France and Germany. Reports suggested Konate might run down his contract and leave as a free agent, but Konate called much of the speculation premature and in some cases unfounded. Konate confirmed ongoing talks through his agents and expressed hope for a near-term decision. Liverpool view Konate as a central part of Arne Slot's long-term defensive plans and would need a significant reshuffle if he departs.
