England to host Spain at Wembley for World Cup qualifier
"Spain are of course one of the best teams in the world and to play them at Wembley again is exciting,"
"It's a challenging group but our objective is to qualify for the World Cup, that is what we are fully focused on from now. We hope our fans can help us take one step closer to Brazil at Wembley in April,"
"Qualifying for the next World Cup, which will be held in Brazil, follows the same format as the Nations League and is split into three tiers. Only the four group winners in League A will automatically qualify for the finals, with the remaining teams having to go through the play-offs for the remaining eight places."
England will host world champions Spain at Wembley on 14 April as part of Group A3 in 2027 Women's World Cup qualifying. Spain beat England in the 2023 World Cup final, and England beat Spain on penalties to retain the Euro 2025 title. England's Group A3 opponents also include Iceland and Ukraine. Qualifying follows a three-tier Nations League-style format with only the four League A group winners earning automatic World Cup qualification; remaining teams enter play-offs for eight places. Venues and ticket information for England's other home matches will be announced in due course. Six qualifying fixtures are scheduled across March to June 2026.
