FC Bayern Women eclipse 50k for Allianz Arena opener
Briefly

FC Bayern Frauen recorded over 50,000 tickets sold for their Frauen-Bundesliga opener at the Allianz Arena against Bayer 04 Leverkusen. The club is coming off a league and cup winning season and recently secured a second straight Super Cup. The regular home, FC Bayern Campus, holds 2,500 spectators, roughly twenty times fewer than the forthcoming Allianz Arena crowd. Consistently achieving such high attendance at the Campus appears doubtful. A club that aims to compete on Europe’s largest stages requires a larger venue than the 2,500-seat Campus stadium. Fans are invited to suggest alternative venues.
Coming off a league and cup winning season - and following it up with a second straight Super Cup this weekend - the FC Bayern Frauen have announced that over 50 thousand tickets have been sold for their Frauen Bundesliga opener that will take place in the Allianz Arena this Saturday. Bayern continues to break their record for most tickets sold ahead of the match against Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
The Bayern Frauen normally play on the FC Bayern Campus with a capacity of 2500 - 20 times fewer than the number of tickets sold already for the upcoming clash in the Allianz Arena. It is doubtful that they could consistently sell enough tickets to make it worth it for them to play in the Allianz Arena, but a team as successful as Bayern, that wants to compete on the largest stages in Europe, needs something bigger than the 2500-seat stadium on the Campus.
