Ezequiel Fernandez joined Bayer Leverkusen from Al-Qadsiah on a five-year contract as a replacement for Granit Xhaka, who moved to Sunderland. Fernandez made 23 appearances in 2024-25 as Al-Qadsiah finished fourth, leading his team with 57 tackles and 1,633 successful passes. The transfer marked Leverkusen's 17th signing of the summer and coincided with the sacking of manager Erik ten Hag after two Bundesliga games. Victor Boniface will spend 2025-26 on loan at Werder Bremen after scoring 11 goals in 27 appearances last season and failing a medical for a proposed AC Milan move. Piero Hincapie joined Arsenal on a season-long loan with a £45m (€52m) option to buy.
