Heung-Min Son moved from Tottenham Hotspur to Los Angeles Football Club for a reported $26 million transfer fee. Son committed to competing for trophies and representing the city and its fans as he begins a new challenge in Major League Soccer. Son finished a decade at Tottenham with 173 goals and 101 assists across all competitions, earned the Premier League Golden Boot in 2021–22, won multiple club honors, and reached the 2019 UEFA Champions League Final. Son will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at Dodger Stadium on Aug. 27 and received a welcome message from Dodgers players with Korean heritage.
I'm incredibly proud to be joining LAFC, a club with big ambitions in one of the most iconic sports cities in the world. Los Angeles has such a rich history of champions, and I am here to help write the next chapter. I'm excited for this new challenge in MLS. I have come to L.A. to lift trophies and give everything for this club, this city, and its fans. I cannot wait to get started.
