'I know my role' - O'Sullivan on Liverpool challenge
"It reminds me a bit of being back home in Cork. People are just so friendly and they want you to settle in quickly, so the transition has been seamless, People in Ireland were absolutely buzzing that I was signing for a club like Liverpool and I think my family was just as excited. I am close to home now - it's only a 40-minute flight - so they can come and watch me play whenever."
"I want to leave a legacy here and bring in my leadership and my experiences. I want to be impactful for the younger players. Every single day I want to help them get better and be a role model. I think the club has a clear vision. They want the team, in the next few years, to be up there and winning WSL titles,"
Denise O'Sullivan left North Carolina Courage after nearly a decade and more than 150 appearances to join Liverpool on a club-record transfer. She scored six minutes into her debut during a 6-0 FA Cup win over London Bees. The move places her within a short flight of home, allowing family to attend matches. O'Sullivan intends to bring leadership and experience, mentor younger players, and leave a legacy. Liverpool are bottom of the WSL without a league win this season and have added six new signings to address the relegation battle and pursue future title ambitions.
