Sevilla coach Matias Almeyda received a second yellow card at half-time for protesting decisions by referee Alejandro Muniz and was later sent off during a 2-0 defeat at the Santiago Bernabéu. Sevilla defender Marcao was also dismissed midway through the second half. Almeyda denied verbally abusing the official and called for audio recordings of the incident to be released. He described the referee's performance as very bad while congratulating Real Madrid on the victory, insisted poor refereeing led to his dismissal, and emphasized his personal and professional history and values.
