Denis Bouanga has been called up by Gabon and will miss LAFC's upcoming matches against Toronto FC and Austin FC. Bouanga scored his 24th goal to tie Lionel Messi for the MLS Golden Boot, marking the second MLS season with multiple players scoring 24 or more goals. Head coach Steve Cherundolo acknowledged the team could struggle without Bouanga and described a conflict of interest between club, country and player ambitions.
