Morecambe appoint first Sikh boss at professional club

Ashvir Singh Johal has been appointed as the manager of Morecambe, becoming the first Sikh to lead a professional British football club. At just 30 years old, he is also the youngest manager in the top five tiers of English football. Following the club's takeover by the Panjab Warriors consortium, Singh Johal replaces Derek Adams after his dismissal. He boasts previous coaching experience at Wigan and Como, and has completed his Uefa Pro Licence, marking a significant career advancement after a decade in Leicester City's academy.
