"The players will sleep in Seixal, and on Thursday there is training, and the day after there's training. Since there's no final on Saturday, our next game is against Porto next Wednesday [in the Taca de Portugal quarter-final]. When we arrive in Seixal [on Wednesday], everyone will go to their rooms. I hope the players sleep as well as I do, which is to say that they don't sleep at all."
"On Thursday, we can start talking, which isn't what happened in the locker room,"
"In the locker room, it was a monologue, and monologues don't work for me; I like to have a dialogue with the players."
Jose Mourinho made Benfica players sleep at the club training ground in Seixal after a 3-1 Taca da Liga semi-final defeat by Braga. Braga led 2-0 at half-time through Pau Victor and Rodrigo Zalazar. Vangelis Pavlidis converted a second-half penalty before Gustaf Lagerbielke sealed Braga's victory with nine minutes remaining. Nicolas Otamendi received a 90th-minute red card to leave Benfica with ten men. The loss ended an 11-game unbeaten run. Mourinho has recorded 14 wins in 23 matches since taking over in September and Benfica sit third in the Primeira Liga. The club's next fixture is a Taca de Portugal quarter-final against Porto.
