Newcastle have agreed a £55m fee with Brentford to sign Yoane Wissa; he is due at St. James' Park to undergo a medical. Wissa has not featured for Brentford this season after making clear to the club's hierarchy that he wishes to pursue a move elsewhere. Newcastle are reinvesting funds from Alexander Isak's 130 million transfer to Liverpool into Wissa and newly acquired Nick Woltemade, who joined for 69m. Brentford initially resisted after several summer departures and an initial 25m offer, but Newcastle increased their bid to 55m. Personal terms are not thought to be an issue and half of the fee will be paid this financial year.
His situation has mirrored that of Alexander Isak at Newcastle, whose 130 million transfer to Liverpool is set to be completed before the 7pm transfer deadline.
