No smoke without fire': Nuno casts doubt over Forest future as Marinakis relationship sours
Briefly

Nuno Espirito Santo has acknowledged a deterioration in his relationship with Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis and signalled concern about his future amid reports of a possible sacking. He led the club into European competition for the first time since 1995-96 and signed a new three-year contract in June. Nuno said communications with the owner were once close but have become distant, that relations were no longer based on the same trust and sharing of opinions, and that the club is not united. He also warned 'where there's smoke, there's fire' while insisting he is focused on his job.
I always had a very good relationship with the owner, last season was very close, almost [talking on a] daily basis, he said. This season, not so well, but I always believe that dialogue and your opinion is always valid, because my concern is the squad and the season that we have ahead of us. But our relations have changed. It is not so close [now].
