Players will determine the outcome of the NWSL Championship at PayPal Park while coaches create situations for players to respond to. Trinity Rodman is the central figure for the final and faces a contract that expires next month, with offers from clubs in England and the USL Super League that the NWSL cannot currently match because of its salary cap. Rodman sprained the MCL in her right knee last month and returned for five minutes in the semifinal. Her availability for the final remains uncertain; she trained with a black sleeve on her knee and reported feeling great while the team did not specify how many minutes she will play.
