Leyton Orient have signed 20-year-old forward Dom Ballard from Southampton for an undisclosed fee. He has signed a three-year contract with an option for a fourth year and will join Brisbane Road. Ballard made four senior appearances for Southampton, scoring once. He spent the first part of last season on loan at Blackpool, scoring one goal in 22 games, and later joined Cambridge United on loan, scoring twice in 17 appearances. Leyton Orient manager Richie Wellens said the club had tracked Ballard for several seasons and that there had been strong interest from other clubs.
