Rangers have sold 21-year-old Brazilian left-back Jefte to Palmeiras for an undisclosed fee, 15 months after signing him from Fluminense. Jefte made 56 appearances for the Scottish Premiership club, starting all but six matches. New head coach Russell Martin preferred Max Aarons ahead of Jefte, while noting Aarons was not a long-term solution at right-back. Jefte had signed a four-year contract last summer after arriving from Brazil for a reported 680,000 fee, following a season on loan at Apoel where he helped win the Cypriot title. Palmeiras sit third in Brazil, trailing Flamengo by four points and sitting 12 points ahead of Jefte's former club.
