RB Leipzig are intensifying efforts to sign Harvey Elliott ahead of the September 1 transfer deadline to replace departing playmaker Xavi Simons, who moved to Tottenham for 60m [51.9m] plus 5m [4.3m] in add-ons. Leipzig have not submitted an official bid but are exploring a loan with a buy option for Liverpool's number 19. Liverpool are unwilling to engage with offers until attacking reinforcements arrive. Elliott's minutes have fallen sharply under Arne Slot, dropping from 2,786 minutes in 2023/24 to 822 in 2024/25, reducing him from a trusted squad member to a bit-part player. When given minutes, Elliott produced three goals and nine assists in 34 Premier League appearances.
