Sammie Szmodics withdrew from Ireland's upcoming World Cup qualifier in Armenia after sustaining a knock. Szmodics had started in the 2-2 draw with Hungary the previous night but the injury forced his withdrawal from the squad. The Ipswich midfielder was returning to the national set up after missing the previous four games. Shamrock Rovers defender Josh Honohan was called up to take Szmodics' place and will travel with the squad to Armenia for Tuesday's qualifier. The squad change was made to cover the late injury to Szmodics.
