Sweden's Soft Hooligans ready to pump up the volume at Women's Euros
Briefly

Soft Hooligans, a grassroots supporter group founded in 2017, is gearing up to cheer for the Swedish women's football team during the Women's European Championship in Switzerland. Inspired by the vibrant atmosphere of Dutch fans during the men's Euros, founder Estrid Kjellman seeks to recreate that energy for women's matches. With over 5,000 members, the group faces logistical challenges to bring drums, banners, and flags to Geneva, but are determined to celebrate and support their national team passionately, ensuring the matches are lively and engaging.
"I felt really strongly that I wanted it to be just as fun to watch women's football as it was to watch the Herrallsvenskan.... It was incredibly quiet at Sweden games at the 2017 Euros."
"Soft Hooligans was founded in 2017 after Estrid Kjellman returned from the Netherlands where she had watched the Euros with her family... impressed with the presence and passion of Dutch fans."
