Tottenham sign Conor Gallagher for 34.7m as Frank says he will bring leadership'
"Conor is a top midfielder, who we have worked tirelessly to add to our squad, the Spurs head coach, Thomas Frank, told the club's website. He is still young, so has plenty of room for improvement, but also has huge experience across the Premier League, La Liga and with the England national team. Conor has captained teams so will bring leadership, maturity, character and personality to our dressing room,"
"I'm so happy and excited to be here, taking the next step in my career at an amazing club, he said. I wanted to be a Spurs player and thankfully the club felt the same. It was very easy, it happened very quickly and I'm ready to get on the pitch. I know how great the fans are, I'm really happy to be a part of it here and want to create special moments and memories together."
Conor Gallagher, 25, has joined Tottenham Hotspur from Atletico Madrid in a deal worth around £40m and has signed a contract until the summer of 2031. The midfielder returns to the Premier League after leaving Chelsea for Atletico in the summer of 2024. Aston Villa initially led the race, but Tottenham convinced Gallagher, who is seeking more playing time ahead of this summer's World Cup. Spurs head coach Thomas Frank highlighted Gallagher's youth, Premier League and La Liga experience, leadership, running power, pressing ability and eye for goal. Gallagher expressed happiness, excitement and readiness to start and create moments with the fans.
