A 1994-born man who disrupted the Tour de France stage 17 received an eight-month suspended prison sentence for entering a sports competition area and assaulting a police officer. He attempted to ride through the finish line just before Jonathan Milan's victory. The man has also been banned from entering sports venues for five years and must pay €500 in damages to the officer who fell while arresting him. This was not the only disruption, as officials had to intervene in stage 11 as well.
A man attempting to ride through the finish line of stage 17 of the Tour de France has received an eight-month suspended prison sentence after disrupting the competition.
The man, a 1994-born individual, was arrested for entering a sports competition area, refusing to comply with authorities, and assaulting a police officer.
In addition to the suspended sentence, the man has been banned from entering any sports venue for five years and ordered to pay €500 in damages to the fallen officer.
This incident was not isolated, as officials also intervened in a previous stage to manage a protester just prior to the finish line.
