The Noufal family endures a series of tragedies amid conflict, losing multiple members to violence. Mohammed Noufal, a journalist, was killed alongside other journalists. Janat, his surviving sister, endured the loss of her mother Muneera due to an Israeli bombardment. Her brother Omar was martyred during a rescue attempt. As a result, Janat's immediate family now consists of her father, brother, and three sisters, marking a profound impact on their lives amidst the ongoing conflict.
When we lost my mother Muneera, my father said in a hoarse voice, We have been struck down.'
When my older brother Omar passed away, we heard our father groan and say, You've broken my back, oh God, Janat told me.
Their aunt and uncle were killed. A year later, on October 7, 2024, Omar, Janat's eldest brother, was martyred while he was trying to rescue the injured.
Janat has only her father Riyad, her brother Ibrahim and her sisters Ola, Hadeel, Hanan left.
