On the Power of Small Acts of Noncompliance
Briefly

Resistance against fascism and hostility can feel overwhelming and often futile. People acknowledging their efforts may seem ineffective against systemic oppression and bigotry are correct. Despite the successes of authoritarianism and despair being a natural response, inaction is not acceptable. Resistance activities like contacting representatives or protesting can appear ineffective, yet continuing these efforts is important. Any action that hampers government corruption or raises awareness remains vital even during dark times.
There is no one magical thing that can be done to stop them, and no set of actions any single person can take to halt the enshittification of our country.
Inaction is not. Throwing up your hands and letting Jesus-or even political leaders-'take the wheel' is not.
Protest, another favorite resistance pastime, also feels futile to lots of people.
The inability to stop Trump with one act or protest or lawsuit shouldn't diminish our efforts to try.
