Microsoft unveiled AI-powered features that integrate Microsoft Defender for Cloud with GitHub Advanced Security to detect and help fix security vulnerabilities in cloud applications. When Defender for Cloud finds a security issue, that information can trigger a GitHub security campaign to coordinate remediation. GitHub Copilot Autofix can automatically propose code changes and create pull requests that developers review and accept. Copilot can upgrade vulnerable third-party libraries and adapt code for compatibility with newer versions. The capability is in public preview. The capability builds on earlier AI tools such as Azure SRE Agent, designed to spot and analyze security issues.
