Research by Purbeck Insurance Services reveals that UK SMEs are resilient in prioritizing employee welfare and environmental responsibility amid rising economic pressures. Over half of SMEs surveyed have taken steps to support their staff, such as salary reviews and cost of living bonuses. Coinciding with a time when only a third of the public feels financially secure, these initiatives underscore the importance of retaining a motivated workforce. Additionally, nearly two-thirds of SMEs are taking serious steps to reduce their carbon footprint, particularly under the leadership of younger demographics, indicating a strong commitment to sustainability.
61% of SMEs believe that focusing on employee welfare and sustainability is critical to long-term success, despite experiencing economic challenges.
It's inspiring to see UK SMEs positively impacting their communities by putting employees first and prioritising sustainability amidst current economic challenges.
