Rapidus is on track to enter 2nm volume production by 2027, having achieved a key milestone recently. Founded in 2022, the company aims to rival established foundries like TSMC and Samsung. It is currently working on its 2nm GAA transistor structure and has successfully tested extreme ultraviolet lithography technology. Rapidus has installed over 200 pieces of semiconductor equipment at its Chitose City plant. To move forward, the company aims to finalize its process development kit by Q1 2026, stepping into production ahead of its competitors, albeit two years later than TSMC and Samsung.
