Star Trek will embark on a farewell tour over the next two years, concluding with the final season of Starfleet Academy in 2027. This marks the end of the modern Paramount+ era that began in 2017 with Star Trek: Discovery. Starfleet Academy will not return for a third season, and the future of the franchise remains uncertain following the Skydance/Paramount merger. A new Star Trek movie is in development, but the 'NuTrek' era will officially end after the upcoming seasons of Strange New Worlds and Starfleet Academy.
