"New BBC series Riot Women began on Sunday (12 October) and introduced everyone to the fierce women creating a rock band to get their voices heard. Starring Joanna Scanlan, Tamsin Greig, Rosalie Craig, Lorraine Ashbourne and Amelia Bullmore, the show explores the lives of women who, after being made to feel angry, invisible and tired, are looking to revamp their lives through music."
"The show also features trans actor Macy Seelochan, a rising star in films, TV and theatre. She plays Miranda, the transgender daughter of Ashbourne's character, Jess. Seelochan trained at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, in London. She graduated in 2019 and has worked mainly on the stage. Macy told QX in 2023: "I use all pronouns." In 2023, Macy played Celia in As You Like It at Shakespeare's Globe."
"Macy has also starred in Netflix's Shadow and Bone and several short films. In the later episodes of the six-part series, Miranda gets her chance to shine when the band needs another member. Macy is one of the first trans actors to be a series regular on the BBC. As a member of vocal group Trans Voices UK, Macy supported Kesha at Mighty Hoopla earlier this year."
