Former Queer Eye star Bobby Berk breaks silence on show's end
"Technically, with [the special in] Japan, we did 11 seasons, which is the longest-running Netflix original show ever. And to be a part of that was phenomenal. It was phenomenal, and I can't wait to see their final season."
"I have to say, I swear on my mother's life, my show announcement date was set,"
"No, this was planned. Show announcements don't happen on a whim."
"I mean, [Netflix] could have easily given me a heads-up on when that was going to be announced. I mean, I was on the show for [eight] seasons, but yeah, it's fine."
Bobby Berk acknowledged an extensive run on Queer Eye, noting the special in Japan brought the total to 11 seasons and calling the experience phenomenal. Berk confirmed he left after eight seasons and that Jeremiah Brent succeeded him for season nine. Berk announced a new HGTV show, Junk or Jackpot?, with the announcement date falling the day after Queer Eye's cancellation and drew criticism for the timing. Berk insisted the HGTV announcement date was set in advance and said Netflix could have given him a heads-up. Karamo Brown reached out to comment, and filming on the final season has wrapped.
