The 2025 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade marks the event's 99th annual running, originally launched in 1924 and paused from 1942 to 1944 for World War II material conservation. Millions of spectators line Midtown Manhattan to watch balloons, floats, marching bands, and celebrity performers traverse the parade route. Last year’s broadcast on NBC and Peacock drew 31.3 million viewers, making it the year's most-watched entertainment telecast. Macy's Studios and a large team of artisans recreate early parade elements and debut new balloons, including a Buzz Lightyear balloon featuring “Andy” on the boot as a Toy Story homage.
