Jennifer Aniston will executive-produce and star as the mother in a TV adaptation of Jennette McCurdy's 2022 memoir and will portray McCurdy's mother. McCurdy recounted a traumatic relationship with an overbearing parent, beginning with being forced into acting, developing a long-term eating disorder, and experiencing exploitation through her career until her mother's death in 2013. Apple TV+ picked up the project and attached Aniston to the role.
