"Today, Crunchyroll raised prices for its remaining tiers. The cheapest plan, Fan, went from $8 per month to $10 per month. The Mega tier, which allows for streaming from up to four devices simultaneously, went from $12 to $14. The Ultra tier, which supports simultaneous streaming across six devices and includes access to the Crunchyroll Manga app, increased from $16 to $18."
Sony acquired Crunchyroll from AT&T in 2020 when Crunchyroll had about 3 million paid subscribers and 197 million free-account users. Sony folded Funimation into Crunchyroll and shut down Funimation in April 2024, which led to the erasure of some digital Funimation libraries. Sony reduced free titles in 2022 and eliminated Crunchyroll's free option on December 31, 2025. Crunchyroll raised subscription prices: Fan from $8 to $10, Mega from $12 to $14, and Ultra from $16 to $18. Current subscribers see changes after March 4; new customers are charged the higher rates immediately. Pricing had earlier increased in May 2024.
