The Real Housewives of Miami Recap: Virgin Sacrifice
"In the last episode, while Stephanie took most of the women on a 44-minute round-trip jet flight to Marbella, Marysol Patton was back in Seville, flexing her rich-lady superiority by having a little chat with her friend Dick. You know, Richard Branson: the billionaire who owns Virgin airlines, cruise lines, and, at least in the U.K., telecommunications companies. Yes, that Dicky B. He's inviting the whole cast on a free cruise to celebrate Marysol's umpteenth wedding to her husband, Steve Patton."
"That's cool and all, but call me back when he doesn't have a new cruise boat to shill and invites them to Necker Island, his $100,000-a-night private island and resort where Kate Winslet met her husband, Ned Rocknroll, while they were both escaping a fire. (I swear I did not make up a single thing in that last sentence.) Before everyone can board the aptly named The Resilient Lady, they must sort out the fallout from the trip to Seville."
"That means rather than being on opposite "teams," Larsa and Alexia can help each other with their respective feuds. They come up with quite an ingenious plan and one I haven't seen on The Real Housewives before: Larsa is going to talk to Stephanie and help her settle things with Alexia, and Alexia is going to talk to Lisa and get her to settle things with Larsa."
Stephanie flies most of the women to Marbella while Marysol remains in Seville and confers with Richard Branson, who invites the cast on a free cruise to celebrate Marysol's wedding. Skepticism about Branson's motivations and the extravagance of venues such as Necker Island is noted. The Miami cast members are framed as friends who often socialize, prompting Larsa and Alexia to coordinate a mutual mediation plan to resolve separate feuds with Stephanie and Lisa. Additional personal moments include Marysol and Julia venting about Stephanie, Julia noting a daughter is speaking to her again, and Kiki sharing a fraught lunch with her father.
