Boeing reaches settlement with Canadian whose family perished in 2019 plane crash | CBC News
Briefly

Boeing settled a case with Paul Njoroge, whose wife and three children died in the 2019 Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 crash. This settlement prevented the trial set to determine damages for Njoroge, who has struggled with grief and emotional distress since the incident. All 157 passengers onboard the plane perished after it malfunctioned and crashed. Njoroge's lawyer stated that while they sought large damages, the settlement terms remain undisclosed. The case was expected to avoid technical discussions surrounding the Boeing 737 Max issues linked to the crash.
"He's got complicated grief and sorrow and his own emotional stress," said Njoroge's lawyer, Robert Clifford. "He's haunted by nightmares and the loss of his wife and children."
Terms of the settlement were not disclosed publicly. Clifford said his client intended to seek "millions" in damages on behalf of his wife and children.
