An impaired operation investigation was launched that day at the Southern Georgian Bay detachment and involved one of the detachment’s officers. The 39-year-old constable faces counts of operation while impaired by alcohol and operation while impaired with blood alcohol concentration above the legal threshold. The officer is scheduled to appear before the Ontario court of justice in Midland on Feb. 26. The officer has been suspended with pay and the OPP Professional Standards Unit is conducting an internal investigation.
