Charles McAdoo is scheduled to be promoted to the Blue Jays’ big league roster, with a corresponding roster move still pending. The team acquired McAdoo at the 2024 trade deadline from the Pirates, sending Isiah Kiner-Falefa to Pittsburgh, then re-acquired Kiner-Falefa last summer. McAdoo spent all of 2025 in Double-A New Hampshire, posting a .247/.318/.413 line with a .732 OPS, including 16 home runs and 45 RBIs. In spring training, he produced six hits in 31 at-bats with a .620 OPS. For 2026, he was promoted to Triple-A Buffalo, where he hit .250/.356/.436 with a .792 OPS, ranking among the top Jays prospects in home runs and RBIs. He plays primarily corner infield positions and adds another right-handed bat to a roster heavy with left-handed hitters.
"Per ESPN's Jeff Passan, the Blue Jays are set to promote infield prospect Charles McAdoo to the big league roster. A corresponding roster move has yet to be announced, but the Jays will need to make space on both the 40-man and active roster for McAdoo before their series in Baltimore tomorrow."
"McAdoo was acquired by the Blue Jays at the 2024 trade deadline, with Toronto sending Isiah Kiner-Falefa to the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange. The Jays front office re-acquired Kiner-Falefa last summer, completing the trade full circle."
"Last season, McAdoo spent the entire campaign in Double-A New Hampshire, where he posted a .247/.318/.413 slash line with a .732 OPS. He also chipped in with 24 doubles, 16 home runs, and 45 RBIs with the Fisher Cats, showcasing his plus power."
"For the 2026 season, the 24-year-old was promoted to Triple-A Buffalo and has been a constant staple in the Bisons' lineup. Across 49 games and 172 at-bats, he owns a .250/.356/.436 slash line with a .792 OPS. He sits fourth in the Jays' farm system with his eight home runs and ranks fifth with his 27 RBIs as well."
